Hoopers Island Oyster Co. Relaunches The Oyster Gardening Package.

Cambridge, MD-Hoopers Island Oyster Company (HIOC) proudly announces the relaunch of its latest product, the Oyster Gardening Package.  The Oyster Gardening Package caters to Chesapeake Bay oyster enthusiasts keen on cultivating their own oysters from the comfort of their own dock.  Oyster gardening gives a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to play a crucial role in replenishing the Bay’s oyster population, which is essential for its recovery.  Whether these bivalves thrive on natural reefs or off a dock, their filtering capabilities significantly enhance the estuarine ecosystem.   

The Oyster Gardening Package, crafted by HIOC, in partnership with Submurge Oyster Farming Systems, equips individuals with everything they need to nurture a thriving oyster population. Each package includes 1,000 oyster seed and four mesh bags complete with floats, clips and line to attach to your dock, available in a range of sizes tailored to accommodate the oysters’ growth until harvest.

This product falls under the Maryland Aquaculture Oyster Float Credit program, which provides a tax credit toward the purchase of new aquaculture oyster floats, specifically designed for individual pier-based oyster cultivation. Eligible individuals can receive a credit of up to $500.  To claim this credit, applicants must complete Part D of Form 502CR.

The Oyster Gardening Package is now available for preorder exclusively at www.hoopersisland.com. Customers will have the flexibility to choose from four different pickup or delivery dates, all with complimentary shipping.
