Ice Eater Pumps & Controls

Power House Pumps Optimize Aquaculture Grow-Out Systems

Description

Manufactured in by Maryland-based Power House, the Ice Eater was originally designed to prevent ice from forming around boats, marinas, docks, and piers as well as effectively melting existing ice by breaking the surface with a continuous current of warmer bottom water. Oyster farmers began using the Ice Eater to act as an axial flow pump in Floating Upweller Systems.  The Ice Eater constantly empties central trough in the Floating Upweller System, drawing water from each silo and creating flow through the seedbed. Every FLUPSY we sell includes a standard 3/4 HP Power House Ice Eater. Now, we’re also offering the the 3-phase (1 hp) VS-1000 model and Vari-Speed Control Panel as an optional upgrade with each purchase.
